Sherwood Forest Faire Patrons Camping
Sherwood Forest Faire will offer onsite camping. The Campgrounds will be approximately 25 acres under large oaks. The campgrounds are primitive-no electrical hookups. There will be flush toilets and showers available to campers near the Faire grounds entrance from the campgrounds and port-a-johns around the reserved and general/open campgrounds. The campgrounds entrance for both Patrons and Participants is on US 290 where the large billboards are located. At the entrance will be a ticket booth. Particpants/vendors will enter to the right and show their passes and then proceed into their campgrounds, parking area, or to the access road that runs behind their booths. Patrons will enter to the left and purchase their camping passes ($5 per person for the weekend for people over 6 years old) plus at least one Faire entry ticket per person, unless previously purchased.
Patrons will then proceed to the left. There is a crossroad just ahead. To the right is the one-way road leading past the reserved camping areas and up to the Pub area. Straight ahead at the crossroad is the "One-way Do Not Enter" exit from the reserved campgrounds. Turning left at the crossroad will bring Patrons into the general/open campgrounds. This area has been roughly cleared and will require levelling and removal of ground roots and branches, so bring a rake.
All the debris cleared from the campgrounds has been placed in piles. All of the dropped wood is available to be cut up for firewood. Do not cut standing trees.
The general/open campgrounds is divided into two areas. The area to the left as you enter is the Quiet Camping area, where no generators or loud noise is allowed after 10 PM. To the right is the rowdy camping area that is adjacent to the fire circle.
For the General/open camping area, a trash dumpster will be placed at the entrance into the area. Do not leave trash in your area when you leave. For the reserved camping areas, the group is responsible for removing their trash at the end of the weekend.
The reserved campgrounds are just that. Groups have marked off their areas and cleared the area for their group usage through the Faire season. They are responsible for maintaining the security, trash disposal, and cleanliness of the area. If these responsibilities are violated, the group will lose their area and it will be made available for another group to claim. If you are not a member of one of these groups or haven't been invited to camp in their area, do not camp in the areas, even if it is empty.
For the first year or two, we cannot support RVs/Travel trailers in the Patrons General/open campgrounds due to the sharp turn into the campgrounds and the soil conditions. Pop-up tent trailers and small travel trailers (under 20 ft) should be able to make it into the general/open campgrounds.
No in-ground fires are allowed. All fires must be in firepits raised above ground level, with at least 3 feet cleared of brush and leaves around the firepit.
No illegal drugs, firearms, fireworks, or underage drinking will be allowed on the grounds. Drunkenness, violence, or belligerence will not be tolerate and may result in expulsion from the grounds by Security. Sherwood Forest Faire will operate by the One Strike Rule when it comes to unruly behavior.
