December Gathering

This event takes place 2-4 Dec 2011.

Weekend schedule

Friday

4pm – Campground gates open – come one, come all to set up your campsites!

Saturday

10am-2pm – Volunteer opportunities (picking up limbs, removing stumps, leveling pathways, painting, planting, etc)
1pm – 4pm – Job Fair.  Come meet our staff and our vendors who are hiring booth workers for the upcoming season, and see if you can find the perfect job!  Meet at the Greenwoode Theatre.
5pm-7pm –
A contingent of Sherwood folks will be zooming over to the Elgin Lighted Christmas Parade.  Let’s wow them with our numbers! All are welcome, but full garb (head to toe) is required in order to participate.  Contact zane@sherwoodforestfaire.com for more information.
7pm onward
– Pot Luck Dinner & Gathering. Please bring a covered dish to share! The Faire will provide water, soda and a limited amount of beer (you may wish to BYOB in case that runs out).  We will enjoy each other’s company well into the wee hours.  During and after dinner, there will be music, drumming, perhaps a stage performance or two.  Bring your musical instruments!

Sunday

Site closes at 2pm

You can RSVP on Facebook or by replying to this post.

Our Volunteer Work Day & Gathering events typically see dozens to hundreds of people coming out to help weed, garden, remove dead trees, plant grass, etc. Clans are allowed to work on their own campsites on these days and many vendors work on their own booths. We all get together in the evening for a pot-luck dinner, with entertainment provided by our own entertainers or new acts who wish to audition, and beverages are provided by the Faire.  All are welcome, and there is no charge for these events.

Would like to come help with the December Gathering. Will be two, maybe three of us. Campsite would include tents correct?

Not a vendor or preformer, just would like to come help with the cleaning and clearing.

Greetings! Not sure exactly what you are asking re: campsites, but if it refers to payment then you should know there is no charge for camping on Gathering weekends. As many tents as you like are welcome in the patron campground free of charge – just stick to General Camping if you are not with a specific clan. (Clans have their own spaces that they have worked hard to clear and beautify, and we request that people only camp in their areas by invitation from the specific Clan).

If you have more questions about camping, please contact our Campground Director, Mike Pullen, at camping@sherwoodforestfaire.com.
