We’re still kicking!

The Bastrop fires came within one mile of Sherwood, but we were spared.  Not so for several members of the Sherwood community.  Several have lost their homes and everything they own, and many are still evacuated and unsure of the fate of their homes.

At much the same time as the fires were raging, we experienced a cyberattack on our website which resulted in it hosting a malicious file that, if downloaded, would spread a virus.  The good news is that this has been fixed! The bad news is that Google will keep telling everyone that our site is dangerous until they rescan it and find it okay.  We have been waiting for them to do that for several days now.

We have had hundreds of emails, phone calls and Facebook messages expressing concern and sharing hopes for the best for Sherwood Forest Faire and its inhabitants.  Your concern is truly touching and we are grateful that so many of our patrons care for the well being of our event and those who make it possible.  From the bottom of our hearts, thank you!

The Celtic Festival will go on, rain or shine (rain welcomed at this stage, actually), on September 24-25.  We will have a collection box for cash donations located at our Souvenir Shoppe during the Celtic Festival.  All funds collected will be given to local relief organizations.  You can also donate via the Central Texas Red Cross.

Thanks again for your support!

It’s so nice to have the Celtic Festival to look forward to. The Sherwood community takes care of its own, and I know there will be a great response from patrons and participants to the collection taken at the Festival. Can’t wait to see ya’ll there on Sunday!
