A.S.L. Weekend

Apr 1 - 2

Members of the American Sign Language professional interpreting community gather together from all over the state on our 5th weekend. Teams interpret shows for a fully immersive experience. We endeavor to make the faire as Deaf and ASL-friendly as possible, so our patrons and volunteers can be enchanted and enriched. Look for BESPOKE wooden pins on interpreters, with supporters donning blue & white ribbons.

Lady Belz invites you to sit for a spell and enjoy the tranquility of the forest at her small fenced-in homestead complete with a faery cottage and a lily pond.

Join our village cleric and the Sherwood villagers for a 20-minute non-denominational church service each Sunday morning at Maid Marian's Chapel. All souls are welcome of any faith and walk of life.

Each faire day at the Falconry Stage the fury, friendly Bandit Beasts of Barnesdale hold a Costume Contest to find the best-dressed patrons who walk these woods. Come cheer for your favorite disguises!

This year the mystical and mischievous fae will hold a madcap cooking show so you can see just how silly making faery food can be! See them in the Faery Courtyard, across from Maid Marian’s Chapel.

Court Jesters Marquise Zany from Zanzibar and the colourful comedian Ima Nutte perform three different shows daily including Fools’ School, The Royal Fools Variety Show, and The Untrained Dog Show with Pea Nutte, Butter, and Coco Nutte!

Jugging is a military strategy sport, not unlike football and rugby. Come see this rag-tag team of warrior-athletes get medieval on each other with swords, shields, and duels to the death at the Jugging Arena!

Find this multi-talented juggler at The Grove Stage after morning cannon and at The Greenwoode Theatre where he and Paolo Garbanzo will once again perform their exhilarating knife-throwing show.

Master glassblower Mark Haller can be found plying his trade and providing glassblowing demonstrations near the Lionheart Tavern throughout each faire day. See the mesmerizing process of glassmaking closeup while you shop!

Jousting With The New Riders of the Golden Age

The New Riders of the Golden Age clash in genuine FULL CONTACT competitive jousting matches daily. Join us as these bold knights bring pageantry and peril to Sherwood Forest’s Joust Arena! 

Jousting Tournament

Sherwood’s joust team holds full contact matches every day of the faire, but on the penultimate weekend, April 16th and 17th, the New Riders of the Golden Age hold a larger Jousting tournament with 6 to 8 knights, breaking hundreds of lances in pursuit of a 1,000 dollar purse. May the best knight prevail!

Judas & Magnolia: Escape Show

Dr. Judas Lynch and Ms. Magnolia Strange present their Underwater Escape Stunt Show every weekend, bringing you to the edge of your seat with fantastical narratives and death-defying stunts! Also look for their Mind Reading Show late in the day at the McGilicuddy Stage. 

Knightlife with Burgalouse

New this Season!



Learn about 12^th Century Knighthood in this action-packed show that combines humour, history, and live fighting demonstrations at their all-new Knights Encampment, close to The Seven Sisters Stone Circle. 

Knights of the Grail - Joust Games and Spear Throw

Knights of the Grail (KOTG) is a program created by the knights of King Richard who provide equine therapy to military veterans (as a 501c3 nonprofit). See the Knights of the Grail demonstrating their skills in two Joust Games daily!

In this year of 1190, you can follow the continuing adventures of Robin Hood and his Merry Band of outlaws by finding the shaded shows on the daily schedule, including a final Castle Siege show near day’s end. 

The World’s Second Greatest Magician! Come join the party of this Chaotic Neutral Warlock as he demonstrates skills of illusion, enchantment, and even a bit of evocation at The McGillicuddy Stage!

A flawless juggler, this mad Italian fool tosses machetes, throws flaming pins, and balances on precarious objects for your pleasure at The Greenwoode Theatre. And this season, Giacomo the Jester joins him again for their highly impractical Knife-Throwing Show on the first four weekends of faire!

Ahoy! The sea-faring Pirates of Sherwood have shipwrecked on the River Trent! Join their crew as they host a real treasure hunt and bring barrels of hilarious adventures to the Pirate Territory Stage. 

Professor Nickels' Punch and Judy Show

Especially great for kids!



A traditional, interactive show featuring a colorful cast of characters including Mr. Punch, his wife Judy, a hungry crocodile, and the Devil himself that will have kids of all ages shouting and laughing just like they did in the old days! Find them next to The Puppet Theatre Wagon.

Queen Bonnie is a lady wizard who is known in these parts as the Magical Queen of Everything. She can be found entertaining passersby with naughty nursery rhymes, riddles, jokes, limericks, and songs.

The Rose of Aquitaine Tasting Tavern

New this Season! Apr 2 - 24



On the final four weekends of faire Madame Ghislaine invites you for a tasting of flights of wines, beers, or meads while you enjoy some special performances from Sherwood entertainers – no tickets needed. You’ll be treated like a royal guest at her open-air pavilion right behind Ye Olde Trip to Jerusalem Pub.

The King’s Chess Masters are a small team of long-thinkers who pit their wits against patrons like yourself on their giant chessboard in Sherwood’s kids’ area, Once Upon a Time…

The Royal Court

Queen Eleanor and her ladies in waiting hold court in Sherwood’s children’s area, Once Upon a Time… where she is known to assign quests to young adventurers from her stately Queen’s Bower. 

The Royal Open Archery Tournament with Robert du Bowyer

Robert du Bowyer holds the Sherwood Royal Open Archery Tournament in the early afternoon at The Joust Arena. Archers with traditional bows of all kinds will compete for medals and legendary titles.

Alberto Lucio is an award-winning sand sculptor creating ephemeral pieces for the enjoyment of all. View these beautiful works of art made from only water and sand near The Horseman Stage. 

Experience the incredible powers of your mind with Saul Ravencraft. Wonder at what is revealed about the world beyond. Exhibitions will be given daily at The Horseman Stage for all curious seekers.

Shakespeare Comedies with The Court Imposters

See Shakespeare at The Villagers' Square like you’ve never seen Shakespeare done before, and never will again, delivered in 20 minutes or less or your next play is free!  This year, The Imposters will perform The Three Little Pigs and Ham...let.

The King’s master of falconry, Sir Robert Cheseman, appears at the Falconry Stage daily. Meet birds of prey eye-to-eye in this inspiring show! The raptor aviary will also be open this year, but with limited capacity.

Saturdays and Friday Mar 18 – Now back in the Campground



Fire dancers spin fiery forms all Saturday evenings, plus Friday, March 18^th. This year the Solar Rain Fire Show returns to the Dragons of the Round Camp just inside the Patron’s Campground from the faire.

Tanaquil of Avalon, Storyteller

Tanaquil of Avalon is an Irish lass who some say has communed with the faeries. How e’er she may have gotten her charm and her gift of gab, find Tanaquil at The Puppet Theatre Wagon and all about the forest.

This highly skilled manipulator of objects uses juggling balls, crystal balls, full glasses of water, clubs, knives, and anything you could think of. Find this flame–flinging daredevil at The Washing Well Stage. 

The Troubadork Show

Despite popular demand, Tobias the Adequate returns to the Forest of Sherwood with a show of original songs and silliness (with just enough traditional stuff to keep the bailiffs happy)! While he’s not a “Bard”, he *has* been Barred from a number of villages and he thinks that ought to count! After 25 years of doing this at fairs and festivals all over the place, he's combined them all into a one-man variety show extravaganza which can described in one word... TROUBADORK 

Sherwood is home not only to adventurers and royalty, but also to everyday people, like crafters, merchants, travelers, and peasants. These friendly townsfolk are Robin Hood’s own welcome wagon.
